Project for 03.007 Design Thinking Innovation (DTI) at Singapore University of Technology and Design.
About
Working on this DTI project marked a significant milestone as it introduced me to my first product prototyping experience. Through collaborative efforts, our team successfully developed FITFLORA, an innovative circuit training corner featuring motivational coloured light designs.
Designed to address a prevalent lifestyle problem in Changi Business Park (CBP), where limited exercise and socializing opportunities exist for office workers confined indoors for long hours, FITFLORA serves as a solution by combining circuit training with an engaging light display. As users progress through their training, the lights on our tree-shaped design illuminate, creating a visually captivating experience. Collaboration among users enhances the light display, fostering social interaction.
The overwhelmingly positive response from our user experience survey validated the success of our product and highlighted the merging of creativity with our individual skills.
Personally, I led the software programming aspect of the project, embarking on the journey of learning C++ and Arduino programming from scratch. Overcoming challenges and investing long hours in troubleshooting efforts, I contributed to the smooth functioning of the system.
Most importantly, this project served as a valuable lesson in the significance of teamwork, empathy, and communication. These shared values were essential in coordinating activities and fostering harmonious collaboration within our team.
